Mapping issue between Data Warehouse and Management Information systems

Management Information System (MIS) wants to take data from Data Warehouse and opens initiative to connect and to regularly import data from Data Warehouse. Sounds easy like piece of cake.

Problem is who will take the obligation to maintain mappings between two systems. Does not sound like problem. Yet.

After analysis and preparation of data delivery appears that at least 50.000 of code combinations need to be mapped between two systems. Well, if this is not a problem I do not know what is? Action seamed at begging like easy task, to make interface, map coding lists and to transfer data from system to system. This hidden problem is not small and urges for resources in future data export. Who will provide it, DWH or MIS? Who likes to data steward?
