REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES

If there is no obligation to present figures and to be responsible for them nothing in structure of complex reporting will fit accurately. Those that are not responsible for presenting figures do not prioritize structures and values. It’s not their task. Task is usually in hands of people who do not have view into core production systems and their logic. Responsibility is in area where is hard to control what is below and situation in production determines quality of figures above.

So, if somebody in reporting department is responsible for figures has very limited power to influence core production systems to clear data and especially their relations. Production systems maintenance will run processes and that is their primary task. Processes have to ongoing and without errors.

Reporting responsibility

Those who have to be involved in quality data feed will feel different level of responsibility. Those with less responsibility will have great influence on quality and those with high responsibility have influence on quality.

Despite attempts to change situation with processes and raise of responsibility it will be always like that especially in cases where sources are unstructured data from table calculators and external sources.
