It is weird situation, companies have more software, more systems and more experts but when it comes to achieving the deadlines nothing from mentioned helps. Deadlines are hard to achieve and are always stressful. How is it possible that with so many invested resources it is hard to report, it is still hard to get data and to present them? It is possible to hear statements like: “we are doing manually like we did before. It is much worse now.”

With many information systems and processes in the line it is very hard to meet requests of management. From one side billing and customer relationship management information collection is more demanding due to more collected data to process and from the other side top management is pushing earlier and earlier releases of official reports. If the official reports are not possible to get on for example 5 working day than approximations for the rest of the month need to be applied together with actuals. Approximation reports are actually double work for reporting department and for IT.

Requests are tremendously growing and their perception is different as perception of reporting systems. Requests for new data are percept as needed and as normal but reporting systems are percept as bad guys and always problematical part.

Benefits from investment in technology and experts are overwhelmed with complexity and quantity of new requests.

That is the reason why it is hard to meet the deadlines.
