Discrimination of Big Information Systems
Is it possbile, big systems are being discriminated?
In many ways big systems are privileged in harvesting additional profit from their market domination. In one particular element big systems are in slave position. It is in area of information systems. Speed and ability to apply change in information systems, to add new dimensions or measures to decision support systems is negative for big systems. In other words, big systems need lot of time, money and experts to implement new information streams for strategic decisions or for new marketing products.
Being big is not always an excellent opportunity… especially not in frequently changing markets. Advantage soon becomes disadvantage. In this light can be stated that big information systems, mastodons, are discriminated by their size and complexity compared to small competitors.
