Many managers would like to see artificial intelligence handling corporate data and information sets and out of there making best decisions. It is pretty idealistic idea yet and many analysts have similar perception too for information systems. All they have to do is to push the button and

intelligent decision making system would produce the best strategic decision that would beat up competition.

While we are waiting Godot idealistic intelligent decision system powered with artificial intelligence, consider following question. What is realistic to expect from intelligent decision system, TODAY? What is realistic with current technology, not futuristic, as mentioned before.

With current technology it is possible to make very powerful and intelligent decision system but current technology (software, methods, know-how and hardware, procedures and etc.) is not stuffed with right methodology/concept that can provide best decision system for drilling deep into corporate knowledge and information base without clutter effect. Not being stuffed with right technology means to have built-in methods and concepts in application core. If application is not built on targeted method, application will very hardly switch from one core construction to another. It is much easier to make new application (platform) with built in concept instead to modify old application core.

No clutter effect is mandatory, but all current solutions do drill deep into corporate knowledge base with IT solutions with information hyper production. Those are IT solutions like Business Intelligence, Business Performance Management, Decision Support System, Management Information System or with financial models like Balance Scorecards, EVA, Six Sigma, Blue Ocean, ABC and many others.

So, what is current solution for intelligent decision system?

It is concept that integrates corporate knowledge and does not make information tsunami that nobody can interpret as whole to understand what is behind.

It is concept that integrates with quantities business and financial figures, statements, reports and analysis.

It is system that provides storage of company knowledge, corporate business logic & financial expertise in knowledge management system.

It is system that allows strategic decision makers to drill down with ease into joined financial and non-financial figures.

It is system that joins all management levels and presents decision and action results in details.

It is system that gives results in real time or nearly real time and that is opposite to current situation in so many companies that calculate product and service profitability in monthly cycles.

It is Total Controlling Concept that needs to be in core of Decision Support System. This is Intelligent Decision System with current technology.
