Beeing Patient and Consistent
Let me start with one great Dalmatian proverb…
“Nije priša ulovila miša, nego vrebanje i dugo čekanje.”
paraphrased to English… Pressure did not caught the mouse but lurking and long waiting
To translate proverb to Information Systems language:
Can huge money investments without internal knowledge and resources ”catch the mouse” – create superior decision-making strategic simulator?
No. There is no substitution for internal knowledge in very complex information environment. Huge investment can help but cannot jump over steps and speed-up complete process. Investment can definitely speed up certain parts.
Can “out of the box solution” be bought?
No. Only parts can be bought. Assembly and customization is always tailor made.
Can Information Reporting System be implemented quickly?
Yes, but the result is not high quality system.
Is there any quick-win reporting and strategic simulation solution?
There is, but this is only one piece of puzzle. One piece of puzzle is not enough to “catch the mouse”. Entire information environment needs to be aligned and prepared including many non-IT related processes that directly influence information flow quality. Quick-win does not “catch the mouse” support long-term sustainable profit from competitive intelligence.
