Report Testing with Confused User

Tester: “Report is not ok”
Developer: “Why?”
Tester: “It does not show expected figures”
Developer: “Can you be more specific?”
User: “It is not good, it does not show any good figure”
Developer: “Can you give me example”
User: ” I already told you”
Developer: “Not in words please, please send me written example of what is wrong.”
User: “When I download report it is not the same as the one I’ve created in Excel”
Developer: ” What do you mean with creating report in table calculator?”
User: “I’m combining application data export with data from several excel tables: This is the report that I’m expecting.”
Confused developer: “Are you using data in reports that are not in any information system?”
User: “Off course!”

?????

So, user is expecting mind reading application that will prepare report that uses as a source unstructured data out of information systems…that was not specified and that is changing during deployment…

That is science fiction  is so cute
