Sharing Key Performance Indicators
I was just passing by in restaurant, buying a coffee and then I’ve heard one very interesting conversation of two colleagues. They were commenting how corporation gathers thousands of KPI’s from daughter companies in controlling departments but none of the board management members except CFO can see more then 5 Key Performance Indicators, and one month old.
That’s so cute.
I do really like when reporting teams especially in controlling gather thousands of KPI’ from other companies, affiliates, daughter companies and similar. Sometimes I wonder since this is not communicated to other business units what is the purpose of such operation that requires significant human effort and tremendous pressure on Information Systems? Since there are no feed back in form of extraordinary guidelines or strategic advises from collectors, I believe they more like to make alibi for their position and to force not so meaningful actions.
They do like to gather data but they do not like to share Key Performance Indicators
.
Can we get piece of pie too? Please, we will be nice.
