Data Availabilty Issue

What do you have in DWH? This is political question, because everything can be set up to be available through DWH but others allocate resources and schedule priorities. This is not question for DWH but for management and most of all for CMO, CFO and CSO who are main pushers toward DWH resources.

DWH delivery capability directly depends on operative costs (OPEX), capital investment (CAPEX), EBITDA and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) sets – Reporting requirement. Any of mentioned items directly affect DWH capabilities to deliver data. If budget (OPEX plus CAPEX) is reduced for DWH then this action directly affect DWH capability to publish new required KPI’s.

Catch is to that Budget is never related with reporting requirements. Those who have power to decide do not relate together requirements with resources and that is an ISSUE. That is political issue as stated at the beginning of the post. Business departments that require huge information deliveries do not like to communicate to decision makers necessity of common relation of budget and reporting requirements. It’s just too complicated for them

Everything can be done with proper budget.
