Alternative to costly CRM solutions

Is there an alternative for costly CRM solutions that have poor implementation success rate?

There is.

It is opposite to costly standard market solution. Not only it is costly but it requires mostly long grace period without new requirements. Can you imagine for example development and implementation lasting for three years without changes on market, processes, product portfolio, organization. It is ridiculous requirement for business side from CRM deployment but it is something that vendors require. Do not disturb period

One alternative is to build own solution from the scratch and that is tailor made from the start and with permanent upgrades. Yes, it is totally against logic, it is messy, it is not standardized, but such solutions can effectively jump into the battle and to be fully operative. While implementation of CRMs from vendors have severe problems with implementations and are very likely to fail, own in house built solutions are dirty but they work.
If custom made CRM solution runs and is operative for longer period of time then we are talking about huge save in investment that might be spent on something that probably would not work. Some might say that company lost due to limited functionalities. I would vote always for much higher savings versus profit possibilities from highly suspected failing solution.

Yes, own built CRM can be sometimes excellent solution for CRM issue.
