STRATEGIC PLANNING

Basic principles of strategic planning:

• First of all identification of main goals, business case modelling and prioritization of strategic initiatives should be done
• For each strategic initiative, goals or projects specific targets and KPIs should be defined

•  Due to various unstructured data it is good to prepare Strategic planning in MS Excel, with certain support of automatic simulation and scenario analysis

• Strategic planning should be done as top-down approach
• Strategic planning should follow top-down approach as high level of integration, focusing at projects, instead of different organizational units
• Due to usually dynamic environment, strategic plan must be aligned with mid-term planning and should be done on a aggregated level
• There should be alignment of strategic planning process between daughter companies and group
• Local target setting process for the group should be established
• Unique Level of detail and Process timeline of strategic planning is desired for the group
• Joint  local strategic planning  is a must for daughter companies in order to ensure  long-term development of the group
• In case of differences between daughter companies top goals and received goals from group, review should be done by Management Board, as well as decision on further proceeding
