How to continue business while implementing a business intelligence?

Most important fact is not to harm selling, marketing and production processes during implementation of business intelligence because company life depends on it. For example, priority will have implementation of new campaign instead of implementation of business intelligence software in case when resources are limited.

Simple reporting features from source systems must work during implementation until they’ll replaced with new reports from BI.

Further important fact is to prepare support for core experts engaged on Business Intelligence before project start. They must be supported and replaced for ordinary tasks, analysis and similar.

Next, but not less important is not to start with major upgrade or change on core source systems like ERP, CRM and etc., during implementation of business intelligence. If core systems are changed significantly and business intelligence is being installed it will be a risky operation. Similar to have several operations in parallel on patient.

Preparation before project is essential and during implementation business can function normally without any harm if certain rules are followed (most important remarks are mentioned above).
