Do you appreciate “hand- made” – local applications that jump into Information Systems gaps and support processes? They are made within month/months mostly with MS Access and/or Excel (with VBA) and they greatly ease job to administrators, decision makers or even business analysts. They can be made very quickly but cannot be replaced with professional applications and included in company Information Systems for many months.

Tell me what to do and then I’ll see if this fits into my vision of what I should do. Such attitude and behavior where somebody else strictly defines your job, tasks and processes is matter of past. Environment around us is too hectic and waiting for knight on white horse to do tough job instead of us is not good.This is not pro active way of thinking and solution oriented practice. Defining somebody else tasks is hard enough job. It also means task recipient is less qualified then you. Do you really need such help. After several weeks process or inputs will be changed and task recipient will ask for additional definitions. Yeah. Like in kindergarten.

In reality, achieving extraordinary and high data quality for management is pure utopia. It is hard to keep good and reliable data quality because many factors not under direct jurisdiction influence data quality. Methodology, data quality management, products data management, inadequate data flow, bi systems interfaces, implementation of new systems, non transparent process and etc. It is a boiling pot of stew. Only thing what is constant is permanent change.
